How we handle your data

1. Introduction

Lepri ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website lepri.dev. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services.

2. Information We Collect

When you use our contact form, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Company name (optional)
  • Service interest
  • Project details you share with us

Messages on Instagram and Facebook Messenger

When you send a direct message to Lepri's Instagram account (@lepri_dev) or Facebook Page, Meta Platforms passes it to us through the official Instagram and Messenger APIs. We receive and store:

  • Your messages and any attachments you send us, and our replies
  • Your Instagram username or Facebook name and, where available, your profile picture
  • A page-scoped ID that Meta assigns to you for our account, and the time of each message
  • Details you choose to share in the chat (for example what you need, your business, budget, timeline, phone or email)

We only receive conversations that you start with us. We do not access your other conversations, followers, posts or any other Instagram or Facebook data.

Automatically collected information

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website
  • IP address (anonymized)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Send project proposals and related communications
  • Improve our website and services
  • Analyze website usage to enhance user experience
  • Measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram (see Cookies)
  • Comply with legal obligations

AI assistant for messages

To answer quickly, an AI assistant may read your Instagram or Messenger messages and reply on Lepri's behalf with general information about our services, past projects and working hours, and may ask a short question about your project. It does not make commitments, quotes only prices from our published price list when we allow it, and hands the conversation to a member of our team whenever you ask for a person, raise a complaint, or a decision is needed. If you ask whether you are talking to a bot, it will tell you. It also helps us keep a short summary of the conversation and record you as a potential client in our internal customer list. We do not use your messages for advertising, and we do not use them to train AI models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our website and answer you: Cloudflare (hosting, the contact form and email routing), Resend (sending email), Meta Platforms (Instagram and Messenger messages), and OpenRouter with the AI model provider it routes to (currently Google) for the AI assistant described above. They process data only to deliver their service to us.
  • Meta Platforms for ad measurement through the Meta Pixel and Conversions API (see Cookies)
  • Legal authorities when required by law

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. Contact form submissions and Instagram or Messenger conversations are retained for the duration of any business relationship plus 2 years. Conversations that do not lead to a business relationship are deleted within 12 months of the last message.

Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

How to delete your data

To delete the messages and information we hold about you from Instagram, Facebook Messenger, the contact form or email:

  1. Email contact@lepri.dev with the subject "Data deletion request", or write "delete my data" to us in the same Instagram or Messenger chat.
  2. Tell us your Instagram username, Facebook name, or the email address you used, so we can find your data.
  3. We delete your conversations, profile details and any client record within 30 days and confirm by replying to you. Data we must keep by law (for example invoices) is kept only as long as required.

Deleting a conversation in the Instagram or Messenger app removes it only on your side; to remove our copy, use the steps above.

7. Cookies

Our website uses the following cookies and storage:

  • Theme preference - stored in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice
  • Visit source - stored in localStorage for 30 days: the page you first arrived on, the referring site and campaign tags in the link (utm, fbclid, gclid). It is sent to us only if you submit the contact form, so we know which ad or page brought the request. It is never shared.
  • Meta Pixel (_fbp cookie) - loaded on every visit. It measures page visits, clicks on our contact details and contact-form submissions from our Facebook and Instagram ads and helps show those ads to relevant businesses. Meta receives the page address, your IP address and browser information. When you send the contact form, the chosen service and a one-way encrypted (SHA-256 hashed) version of your email address are shared with Meta so the enquiry can be matched to the ad you saw; your plain email address is never shared. Contact-form submissions and contact clicks are also sent to Meta from our server (Meta Conversions API).

You can avoid the Meta Pixel by blocking third-party cookies or trackers in your browser (for example with Safari, Firefox or Brave tracking protection, or a content blocker), and you can control how Meta uses this data for ads in your Meta ad preferences.
